Triple 'e' Recycling collect bulk quantities of batteries from Business Customers. The majority are generated from IT and Telecommunications equipment; all are destined to be recycled. Types include:
Primary Batteries
(Non-rechargeable) |
Secondary Batteries (Rechargeable) |
Zinc Carbon
Alkaline ManganeseMercury
Lithium
Zinc Air
Silver Oxide |
Lead-acid
Nickel Cadmium (NiCad)
Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH)
Nickel-zinc
Lithium Ion (Li-Ion)
Lithium Polymer (LI-Polymer) |
Lead Acid and Ni-Cad batteries are classified as Hazardous Waste. Depending on the quantities generated at a site, it may be necessary to register the site with the Environment Agency as a producer of Hazardous Waste (see links).
Some batteries cost more to recycle than their recovered value. However, some generate a significant positive value. Triple 'e' Recycling are buyers of used Nickel Metal Hydride and Lithium Ion (Li-Ion). |
